Touching Moment

Though an automobile accident in 1972 left John Callahan confined to a wheelchair, his humor, spirit, and love life, apparently knew no bounds.

The cartoonist once described an intimate moment in 1978, in which his lover was moved to inform him: "You're feeling up your own leg!"

[Trivia: Callahan, whose offensive cartoons were often deemed too tasteless to be printed even in "alternative" weekly papers, once published a "quasi-memoir" jokingly entitled "Will the Real John Callahan Please Stand Up?"]

Callahan, John (1951-    ) American cartoonist [noted for his collections of hilarious cartoons]
