Hellmesberger

Joseph Hellmesberger was notoriously suspicious, often accusing other composers of plagiarism. When celebrated composer Leo Delibes visited Vienna, a local composer of Hellmesberger's acquaintance asked him to arrange a meeting with the famous Frenchman. Hellmesberger acquiesced, offering by way of introduction: "Monsieur Delibes, meet Monsieur le Dieb (the thief)!"
