Experimenta! In 2003, Italian television presenter-turned-cosmetics manufacturer Ducio Cresci unveiled his company's new line of Experimenta products, including luxury pizza-scented bubble bath, soap and body lotion - all made from such natural ingredients as tomato extract and essential oils of basil and oregano.
Cresci tried to reassure dubious customers. "The bubble bath smells especially strong when you are bathing in it," he explained, "but once out of the water it leaves an irresistible trace of scent on your skin."
[Cresci's customers could theoretically wash, moisturise and perfume themselves with an entire three course meal: the Experimenta range includes cappuccino soap, freshly baked Tuscan bread body lotion and oils smelling of chocolate, cake and chewing gum.]
[Trivia: In 2004, British supermarkets began stocking Pizzagra, a heart-shaped pizza promising to improve sexual performance. Among the aphrodisiac toppings? Artichokes, asparagus, hot peppers, onions, ginger, cardamom, chocolate and bananas.]
