Dramatic MomentOn the opening night of The Vortex in Washington, D.C., Lilian Braithwaite - in one of the play's most dramatic moments - was required to snatch a box of drugs from Noel Coward's hands and hurl it through an open window. When one of the stagehands, apparently unfamiliar with the script, helpfully threw the box back into her hands, the bewildered actress threw it out a second time - with such excited conviction that it broke the window as it passed through.
