Laurence Fishburne: Cell Phone

During a Broadway performance one day, Laurence Fishburne was interrupted by a ringing cell phone. Fishburne's response? He turned to the offending member of the audience and yelled: "Turn your f---ing phone off!"

[The New York City council later passed a bill prohibiting the use of cell-phones during public performances in museums, art galleries and theaters.]


Fishburne, Laurence (1961-    ) American actor [noted for his Broadway performance in August Wilson's "Two Trains Running" (Tony Award, 1992), and for his roles in such films as films as Apocalypse Now (1979), Class Action (1991), Boyz N the Hood (1991), Deep Cover (1992), What's Love Got to Do With It (Oscar-nominated, 1993), Othello (1995), The Matrix (1999), and The Matrix Revolutions (2003)]
