Out-Patient

"Robert Earl Hughes, who weighs 76 stone 3 lb [1067 pounds] and claims to be the world's biggest man, has created special problems for a hospital at Bremen, Indiana, which is treating him for measles, complicated by a heart condition. He has been classified as an out-patient simply because he is too large to pass through the hospital's entrance doors, and there is no bed there big enough for him. He was taken to hospital in his specially designed caravan-home and doctors decided the only way they could treat him was to leave him in the caravan. His condition today was described as serious."
