Military Intelligence

In 1943, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombed a nondescript printing plant in Leipzig, Germany, owned by the descendents of Karl Baedeker, whose Baedeker's Guide to London Herman Goering was using to select targets for bombing.

Why was Goering using Baedeker's? He trusted the guides more than his costly intelligence reports.

Baedeker, Karl (1801-1859) German publisher, founder of Baedeker’s Guides (1829)
