Mickey Rourke Type?

Among the roles advertised by casting agents for Bruce McDonald's action-packed film noir Claire's Hat (about a diamond-smuggling scheme gone bad) were:

full of shit Claire, a downsized stockbroker who is embroiled in a dangerous diamond-smuggling scheme

full of shit an innocent French-Canadian runaway for whom Claire is mistaken

full of shit a "Mickey Rourke type" to play one of the nasty diamond-smugglers

Gina Gershon snagged the stockbroker role (and did all her own stunts); Juliette Lewis won the role of Claire. And who answered the call for the "Mickey Rourke type"? Why, Mickey Rourke of course!

[Trivia: Rourke once worked in a whorehouse, in a massage parlor on 42nd Street, and (as a bouncer) in a transvestite club in L.A.]

Rourke, Mickey [born Philip Andre Rourke Jr] (1950-    ) American actor [noted for Body Heat (1981), Diner (1982), The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984), Year of the Dragon (1985), Nine and a Half Weeks (1986), and Wild Orchid (1990)]
