Roundabout Approach?Ian Brown once attended a fashion show called 'Viva Italia' in Toronto at which hundreds of women had dressed like famous Italian beauties in homage to the show's guest of honour, Sophia Loren.
Brown, struggling to avoid leering at the event's profusion of breasts, explained his plight to a suave and debonair Italian from Sienna, who kindly offered a word of advice.
"You should do as the Italians do," the man said matter-of-factly. "You look. All the time. Don't even bother looking up. Speak to the breasts." He then graciously offered a demonstration, speaking directly to his wife's breasts.
Brown's response? "I tried it a few minutes later," he recalled, "on a wastedr."
["Hello," he said, gazing directly at the 'foaming bodice of a 40ish woman' in a white silk evening gown. "Lovely dress."]
