Winter GuestsFortunately the debut screening of The Winter Guest was not cursed with the same misfortune as the play upon which the film was based:
As the Fortean Times once explained, "after the world premiere at England's Leeds Playhouse of The Winter Guest, a play featuring a community cut off by a blizzard, the audience found themselves snowbound and were put up for the night in the theater."
[In a similarly ironic twist of fate, several performances of "Wait Until Dark" at Rochester's Meadow Brook Theater were cancelled one weekend in 2003... because of a power shortage.]
[Trivia: Rickman earned a credit for his role as Hans Gruber in Die Hard With a Vengeance - even though all of his scenes were cut from the film.]
